The 61st anniversary of Disneyland, doesn't exactly have the same ring to it as the 60th. Plus 60th just sounds more noble and kinda looks better somehow. But that is behind us! Or is it? I mean now that Disneyland is 61, all the decorations that have big 60s on 'em will have to out. The dimond celebration is for the 60th anniversary of Disneyland. So shouldn't we wave goodbye to the 60th decor we have come to love nd charish. Noe! The 60th decor will be staying with us until september of this year. That includes all the shows, foods, and the beloved decor. I mean, who doesn't love the dimond covered castle with its dimond topped turrets. It seems kinda strange that the 60th celebration will be not only bumping into, but overlapping the 61st anniversary. Nothing is really gonna change for the 61st, but new comers will be all like, "Hey! That castle has a big 60 on it. But the map I got today says its Disneyland's 61st. Hmmm..." But no matter. The experienced disnerd will know whats going on.

But Enough about that. Lets talk about the happiest place on earth, on its annaversary. Disneyland has been thrilling guests for 61 years. Thats a long time. There is only a few parks in the world that can make a claim such as that ( I assume). This park has gone beyond the benchmark it sets for itself time and time again. There has been entire sections of the park that have been redone, and rides have been updated and updated again. And yet, under all those layers of paint and the care-worn streets lies a park who's ideals shine on 61 years later.
This park has continued to enchant guests of all ages to this day. It has hosted commeners to kings, Walt himself to me and you. Yes sir, Disneyland will always be around. And it will never be complete, "As long as there is imagnation left in the world". And although Disneyland might change in big ways over the years, it will always be a place where families can have fun together. Thanks Walt, for pursuing your dreams and building such a wonderful place. Here's to the past 61 years, and here's to 61 more.
