The Word is out. The official declaration has been made. Last Year at the D23 Expo the Official building of "Star Wars Land" was announced. And while the land is under construction. Tomorrowland will be decked out with Star Wars decor, which they are calling "The Season of the Force". Yes, very big changes are coming to the much loved Disneyland Resort. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's start with the Season of the Force....

The Season of the Force is basically a sort of temporary covering of about half of Tomorrowland in Star Wars decor. The new changes include: Hyperspace Mountain, Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Wars - Path of the Jedi, and some exclusive events for Annual Passholders.

We shall begin with the most popular change, Hyperspace Mountain. Instead of the normal Space Mountain, the ride has projections (similier to the Ghost Galaxy). The ride now tells a story where the guests are in a starfighter in a battle with the Empire and the Rebellion. The ride is mostly the same except for a few small changes.

The new movie short in the "Magic Eye Theater" called "The Path of the Jedi" is a short 20 minute film that tells the story of the force and how it has been passed on through the generations of Jedi. It includes a sneak preview of the new movie, "Star Wars - The Force Awakens" and gives the movie some added backround.

The next thing on the list is the new "Star Wars Launch Bay" which is a new exhibit in the past "Innoventions" building. The entire bottom floor is a walkthrough museum of Star Wars exhibits including models, props, and costumes from the entire Star Wars trilogy including the new movie. Some areas in the museum are places for meet and greets with characters from Star Wars. There are some areas that are used for shows but the majority is the museum. The entire top floor is the "Superhero HQ" where there is meet and greets with some of the MARVEL characters. It also includes an exhibit with all of the Iron Man suits and in another areas you can try the new Xbox One's. Most of the top floor is used for shops and an equal amount of the bottom floor is used for shops. No one is sure if this part of the changes is permanent or not, but my opinion is that that part is here to stay.

The rest of the decor is temporary. There is banners hanging off the Peoplemover track representing the light and the dark side. There are also projections of the symbols of the Empire and the Rebellion on the corrispondoing sides. The lazer light show I personally haven't seen, so I don't know what it is exactly but it seems like a neat addition to Tomorrowland.

Now, onto a sensitive subject with Disneyland geeks, The addition of the new "Star Wars Land". Let's start with location, wich is one of the main desputes of the land. It will go right where the much loved "Big Thunder Ranch" is located. It is supposed to have a Mos Eisley Spaceport feel so it goes with the themeing of Frontierland. It will take all of the offace space behind the ranch and will go all the way and cut the Rivers of America in half. Yes, the historic Rivers Of America wil go from a 20 minute ride to a 10 minute ride. This is a problem because the Railroad has to now be routed around the land. Many rides near the expansion will be closed for much of 2016, and some probably till 2017. The land will have many rides (I hope) but we know one will be a Millinium Falcon walkthrough or a Star Tours type ride in the Falcon.

That's really all that is known about the new land. Its still a mystery how big it will actually be and what will be in it. But if it is as good as Hyperspace Mountain, it will be great. But we can only hope that the land is of Disneyland quality and that is doesn't "ruin" Disneyland. We can only hope....
