The Hollywood Tower Hotel is one of the most interestng and best rides at the Disneyland Resort. Not only is it the style of the building itself that makes it a great ride, but the gravity defying drop that awaits you inside. The thing I love most about this ride is the idea of an old 1930's hotel that was frozen in time with all the chess games, luggage and music as they were then.
The Hotel itself is very neat looking which draws guests in. It looks its best at night when the tower is perfectly lit up with very dramatic lighting. Also, It is one of the tallest things in Disneyland, which draws in a crowd. But one of the most crowd attracting factors it has is the opening doors at the top floor. As the guests fall, you can hear their screams all the way from Cars Land.
You enter the ride via the lobby. From there you proceed to the library where you watch an introductory film about the hotel's past and its haunting secrets.... Then you head into the sort of janitorial room where all the pipes, a large furance and the best lighting of the ride is kept. Then comes the long wait. As you watch the needle drop to the basement level from floor 13 very quickly, you get a better idea of what your in line for. Then you board and watch some more bits of haunting film. Then you drop....
One of the most memorible things from this ride is the veiw when the top doors open, this stunning veiw ( best at night ) is, in my opinion, one of the best veiws in the world. This ride is truely a classic and is a must ride but be cautious when boarding because "One stormy night long ago, five people stepped through the door of an elevator and into a nightmare. That door is opening once again, but this time it's opening for you..."
